The Michelot family has been growing vines in the Cotes de Nuits for generations. This Nuits Vieilles Vignes (old vines) comes from 75 year old Pinot Noir plantings. The venerable age of these plants contributes an astounding depth and richness for a general village wine. Not unlike a premier cru wine in quality as yields are much lower from older root-stock. This velvety smooth red has considerable weight, extraction, ripe fruit character and big, soft tannins, all contributing to a long satisfying finish.
